What is the Difference between a Certified & Non Certified Diamond?

Basically, there is no physical difference. They both look the same.
Now, the difference between a certified and a non certified diamond is that, with the certified diamond, you have a legal document attesting to the particular nature and quality of the diamond you are purchasing.

The certified diamond comes with a grading report guaranteed by an accredited gem lab. The report assures the customer that the diamond is independently recognized as possessing all the qualities specified by that report.

The non certified diamond is not accompanied by a grading report, and you basically accept the quality of the diamond based on the word of the seller.
